founder of our foundation is Dennis Martinez. |

Yes.
He played Professional Baseball for over 25 years. He is the
first Nicaraguan to have played in the Major Leagues, and one
of the 7th pitchers to win 100 games in both National and American
Leagues; he is also a future Hall of Famer. On August 23rd,
1998 he became the Latin pitcher with the most wins in Major
League History. Also, he is the only Latin pitcher that threw
the 13th Perfect Game against the Los Angeles Dodgers on July
28th, 1991 in Dodger Stadium. |

However, since Dennis Martinez is a native from Nicaragua, he
concentrates his efforts in helping his country, moreover he
wants to help all the children that are in need of his help. |

The
Dennis Martinez Foundation finances its work through individual
contributions and corporate donations. We also have an annual
event "Celebrity Softball Game and Gala" to raise
money. |

The
Foundation invites baseball players from the major leagues,
basketball players and famous TV celebrities, such as: Alex
Fernandez, Jim Palmer, Andre Dawson, Charles Johnson, Livan
Hernandez, Carlos Vives, Willy Chirino, Tito Puentes Jr, Lucia

How
do I go about attending the softball game and gala event? |

During
the months of November through January, we will be announcing
the softball game by radio and newspaper, informing the public
on where the tickets will be sold. |

the foundation helped other countries besides Nicaragua? |

Yes.
We have helped the flood victims in Venezuela, the earthquake
victims in El Salvador, and the victims of hurricane Mitch. |

The Dennis Martinez Foundation is a 501 (C) (3) tax-exempt organization.
As such, all contributions are deductible for income tax purposes. |

are the current projects of the foundation? |

Presently
we are building a shelter home in Leon, Nicaragua for the kids
who have been abandoned, abused or are homeless. We provide
these kids with a safe, secure, and warm atmosphere. Here the
children receive everyday meals and clothing, plus the medical
care they need. We also provide education for the kids in the
shelter. |
